Every Fall, the Intensive English Program hosts an International Thanksgiving. This year was not only the IEP’s 33rd International Thanksgiving, but it was the last event for our 65th anniversary celebrations this year.
We were joined this year by a number of IEP alumni who have graduated over the years, but returned to celebration this amazing tradition with us.
Each room was decorated in a different theme according to the country and culture represented. There were displays for China, Brazil, Kuwait, Italy, France, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, etc. There was a festive mood in the air, as our students and guests traveled between rooms and learned about each other’s cultures by listening to traditional music, trying food, tea, etc.
We also had a number of special performances including a Chinese student playing the guzheng, A Kuwaiti National Song, and a Mexican wedding song, amongst others.
It was another successful event for the books. We look forward to next year!
